SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica The impossible Nintendo 64 FPGA core just got updated again on MiSTer FPGA! With huge improvements to the MiSTer FPGA N64 core bringing new life to so many best retro games! We now have LOD or level of detail which is another N64 hardware feature added to the MiSTer FPGA N64 core! N64 FPGA fun incoming! and now we have YUV support too so we have a FEATURE COMPLETE N64 FPGA core! and now Bangai-O has been fixed and is playable! and now we have a MiSTer FPGA N64 Turbo core! That runs many games faster and better than a stock Nintendo 64! The MiSTer N64 FPGA core was just updated and now TLB on N64 in FPGA is complete! A huge milestone for the Nintendo 64 MiSTer FPGA core is here! It's a huge day for MiSTer FPGA and N64 fans...because every single retail game ever released for the Nintendo 64 now boots on MiSTer FPGA! FPGA gaming is huge for retro gaming fans and today marks the 100% of MiSTer FPGA N64 games booting! Banjo Tooie came in...at least place! This is in addition to the N64 FPGA cor, bringing Killer Instinct Gold, Mario Golf, Twisted Edge Snowboarding, Super Mario 64 and Turok 2 to MiSTer FPGA for the first time! (ok just ONE part of Super Mario 64) and now Paper Mario, Castlevania 64, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, Bomberman 64, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and more! SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica A ton more working games and SRAM functionality to get some new games working as well! Plus PAL support from a few days ago! and now more RDP code that brought an entirely new batch of games to the core working for the first time! and some different visual modes were added to RDP today! including dithering! Oh and vanilla The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time now works on the N64 MiSTer FPGA core! You can find the core on the MiSTer FPGA Discord under test builds. and you no longer need Unstable MiSTer main to run the core! If you need a setup guide my previous Nintendo 64 MiSTer FPGA video has that so here you go: https://youtu.be/vBJUx7kCEmg Patreon Thanks: Seth Peterson, John Thompson, Paul Daniel, Porch, Jon Anderson, RayceARoni, Kuranghu, Jason Hixon, Alex Tessler, Jonathan Leung, Martin Donlon, Tom Van Deusen, barabob, Steve Randall, Ahab, K-2, Renaissance 2K, Ivar Wennerhold, Adrien Sebbane, Mike Puelinckx, Tony Escobar, H7, Ben Parfitt, Holger Schmidt, Tim Lehner, Shad Uttam, Dan L, Coupon Joe, Sunder Raj, Dorfus the Maple Syrup Man, John Booty, Richard S, Eric Gutt and Robert Alger! I asked, you answered...and I try to listen 🙂 Of all the requests for new content on the channel one of the most frequently asked for videos is a series on the Terasic DE-10 Nano MiSTer FPGA hardware...so here it is! Retro gaming goodness. On this episode of our MiSTer series we are going to be talking about the recent happenings in the MiSTer FPGA scene in regards to the potential of a Nintendo 64 core for MiSTer FPGA! Nobody saw it coming...and it was long considered an "impossible core" but perhaps Nintendo's first 3D console might be coming to MiSTer soon! Which would be amazing as there are a ton of great games for it and software emulation, while much improved, is still a bit hit or miss. Plus modding a N64 for HDMI out is expensive and VERY difficult! N64 on MiSTer FPGA would be a huge moment for video game history and preservation too! The N64 core RSP work seems to be getting buttoned up...so next comes the RDP or Reality Display Processor which is in progress and it now has perspective correction built in! . Which means we can now "play" Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Wave Race 64, even The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask...and some other items! and most of the corrupted graphics have been solved by this point in time! Plus F-Zero and Pokemon Snap now too! and Cubivore! And Animal Crossing...and 007 (no not GoldeEye yet) plus Pokemon Stadium! And Harvest Moon 64, and Extreme G and Glover 64...plus some beta Ocarina of Time! But after the PS1 core on MiSTer (developed by Robert as well) and the PSX 2X core…nobody should doubt his talents! and when it comes out just play Bomberman Hero, the N64 hidden gem of choice around this channel! MiSTer FPGA N64 Core Updated! BIG NEWS! Bangai-O is Fully Playable and More Core Fixes

Video Game Esoterica views 13 hours ago

The Playdate console is one of the weirdest pieces of video game hardware to come out in a very long time! It's a portable gaming handheld that has Gameboy vibes with modern hardware...and a black and white screen that is NOT backlit. It's so far away from something like the Nintendo Switch, 3DS or even DS...yet has a lot in common with all those devices as well as Game Boy Advance. So let's do a Playdate review and talk about the best Playdate games and answer...is Playdate worth it? SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica Playdate was developed by Panic as a sort of alternative to modern video game consoles and modern gaming handhelds...it's the anti Steam Deck! It has an analog crank that feels like something borrowed from the Sega Dreamcast and the Dreamcast fishing rod...and on paper you'd think it was something you might NOT be interested in checking out! But the Playdate absolutely sold me and I am 100% on board. It's super refreshing to have a modern 8-bit style gaming experience to counteract all the PS5 games, Xbox Series X games and PC Games we have today! It's got the same odd charm that MiSTer FPGA has...except in handheld form! Questions? Comments? Just leave them below and I will do my best to answer each and every one of them! http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica You can follow us at IG : ChicagoGameCollector , or join our Discord Server : https://discord.gg/vGbsBzJ VGE

SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica When enough of you keep asking me the same questions I try to listen...so here we go; Let's discuss MARS FPGA and how it compares to MiSTer FPGA. What do I know about the MARS FPGA project? Well...about as much as you do! But as someone who talks about retro gaming and MiSTer FPGA weekly and as an advocate for FPGA gaming in general...apparently you want to know what I think! So what do I think? I think Kuato is pretty cool! and lately I have been getting asked a lot about MARS FPGA as to whether or not MARS FPGA was cancelled or if MARS FPGA is dead...so let's take a look at the current status of the presumptive MiSTer FPGA competitor that isn't Analogue Pocket! You asked...now I answer. What is MARS FPGA? Is a MARS FPGA Dreamcast Core happening? Will you be playing Dead or Alive 2 on a MARS FPGA NAOMI Core? Is there going to be a MARS Capcom CPS III Core? a MARS IGS PGM Core? Should I buy a MARS FPGA board? Does MARS FPGA have JAMMA? (ok that's easy. They said it does lol) The answer is...in the video lol. But we will discuss what has been announced for MARS FPGA, talk about what they have stated in regards to MiSTer FPGA core ports to MARS (as those are open source FPGA projects) and the timing...and just kind of look at a LOT of real hardware because it's always fun to show stuff off! But there are a ton of Dreamcast hidden gems, NAOMI hidden gems, IGS PGM hidden gems...and more! So playing them in FPGA one day in the future could totally be fun! Questions? Comments? Sega Saturn on MiSTer FPGA is now on update all and while its still in beta there are still a ton of of best Sega Saturn games and Sega Saturn hidden gems to play! MiSTer FPGA Saturn core fun times! and the FPGA Core has been updated again! Bringing in some important fixes to some of the best Sega Saturn games! so let's do ANOTHER testing update video on the Sega Saturn FPGA core because why not! The ram controller has been rewritten and fixed up in dual updates! AND THE CORE HAS REACHED 95% of the entire North American Library playable! HUGE NEWS...plus we have a couple new fixes as well! SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica I asked, you answered...and I try to listen 🙂 Of all the requests for new content on the channel one of the most frequently asked for videos is a series on the Terasic DE-10 Nano MiSTer FPGA hardware...so here it is! Retro gaming goodness. NOTE : the Sega Saturn MiSTer FPGA core was just added to Update_all as an official release. But its NOT the same core we are currently testing on so it's still WIP. Just a heads up...and that's what this video is today! Plus CHD support has been unofficially added but we will talk about that in an upcoming setup guide! and now a full redesign of the DRAM controller for the Sega Saturn FPGA cor eas well! This is a list of games that just 100% work on the current MiSTer FPGA Sega Saturn core! SRG320 just updated the Sega Saturn core with new code...AGAIN......so of course we are going to test the new binary and see how it performs. and now it's been folded into MiSTer Main and Update_all! Seriously...the improvements in performance and compatibility is a small retro gaming miracle! A LOT of games we tested previously have HUGE improvements and some new games work that never used to! and some games that STOPPED working on previous cores are now back and better than ever! Plus Burning Rangers has a seriously awesome improvement! and now we have new working games that never worked before as well! Amazing. This is a core testing video with user requests! So enjoy! This core fixes a massive ton of issues from the last Saturn core. Also make sure you update MiSTer main as there are some CD loading fixes in there that benefit Saturn! and now it seems like more people that have older RAM modules / the four chip ram module variants are seeing more success running the current Sega Saturn MiSTer FPGA core too! and game saves are here! Which is HUGE for the core! Because playing Sega Saturn in FPGA on MiSTer FPGA without being able to save your game was NOT easy! So that means its time to test a new batch of games...viewer requests too! Note: this is the current build of the Sega Saturn core for MiSTer FPGA and NEW GAMES WORK! but really its the save functionality that is the huge thing! Also this is a MiSTer FPGA Sega Saturn setup guide as the core is once again manually installed and you need to switch to MiSTer Unstable Main vs being on Stable main...which I will show you how to do in the video! This is part of the MiSter FPGA Sega Saturn testing series...but now with a brand new core build! So lets put it through its paces! Because the audio quality on the new core just sounds PERFECT...in spots! Note; you may need to format memory depending on the game. THIS IS THE LATEST TEST OF 2023 using the September 22nd Sega Saturn FPGA core…and I can't wait to follow along with the Sega Saturn FPGA core progress in 2023. It's been incredible to watch the retrogaming community test the Sega Saturn core from Srg320 and I can't wait to see more improvements! Games Tested: Keio Fying Squadron 2, Dungeons & Dragons Shadows Over Mystara, Decathelete, Wipeout and Capcom's fighting game of brilliance X: Men vs Street Fighter! Note: You can use a single RAM or dual RAM build of the Sega Saturn core for MiSTer FPGA. You need Unstable Main currently as well! Consider supporting SRG320. MiSTer FPGA N64 Core Updated! BIG NEWS! Cheats Are Here! Full Setup Guide Plus Game Improvements!

Video Game Esoterica 3.4K views février 18, 2024 10:00 pm

MiSTer FPGA has a ton of arcade cores from Capcom CPS 2 on MiSTer FPGA to Neo Geo MiSTer FPGA and a ton of other options on the retro gaming side...but one of the cores everyone keeps asking me about lately is the Vendetta core...which is technically The Simpsons Arcade core...and how it runs in its current beta form! Because this is an absolutely amazing Konami arcade beat em up and another awesome MiSTer FPGA core! See we do talk about more than just the MiSTer FPGA N64 core and the MiSTer FPGA Saturn Core haha. And it also works on Analogue Pocket as well but this is MiSTer FPGA focused. But its Analogue Pocket news as well! SUPPORT THE CHANNEL : http://www.patreon.com/VideoGameEsoterica Note: This is currently part of the Jotego beta program and is NOT in MiSTer FPGA Update_All yet as a public core! Also this is available on Analogue Pocket as well! Retro gaming goodness. The Konami Simpsons core can do more than just The Simpsons Arcade on MiSTer FPGA and TECHNICALLY Vendetta (also known as Crime Fighters in North America) works on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time arcade PCB...which is a slight variant of a previous Konami arcade pcb! Konami loved to recycle! This could also mean new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade MiSTer FPGA cores along with a Sunset Riders MiSTer FPGA core...possibly! Questions? Comments? I asked, you answered...and I try to listen 🙂 Of all the requests for new content on the channel one of the most frequently asked for videos is a series on the Terasic DE-10 Nano MiSTer FPGA hardware...so here it is! Retro gaming goodness.

Questions? Comments? Just leave them below and I will do my best to answer each and every one of them!

Quick comparison of 240p120Hz vs 240p60Hz / CRT TV vs PC CRT / 15kHz vs 31kHz for 240p content **This seems to be a highly debated topic** LOL I say try 240p 120Hz on a PC CRT for yourself and dont just negate this option by all the negative "nasty motion blur" comments. I understand going from 60Hz to 120Hz is doubling each frame and technically creating a strobing motion artifact....... Do I see it or does it bother me?...... No I think alot of people are just parroting that it will look like crap and havent tried it on MiSTer with these settings, cause thats exactly what I was doing just a few days ago before I tried it. Maybe youve tried it in the past on retroarch on PC and maybe didnt have integer scaling on which caused issues. Everyone is saying the motion blur artifact or double frame strobe affect cannot be seen in recorded video I can definitely see something in this video here that I took.... https://youtu.be/eVNPwl-OstQ Maybe its not the actual strobing/blur artifact of doubling 60Hz to 120Hz seen in the recorded video but you can definitely see the negative motion artifact represented. So in this comparison video of MiSTer on a PC CRT at 240p 120Hz and a supergrafx running the same content on a 15kHz consumer CRT in the same room ,same conditions, same camera..... Any motion artifacts caught in the recording are on par with eachother... https://youtu.be/b0bu4RPOJiA Now I understand a camera capturing at 60fps is not going to resolve an issue of every frame being drawn twice in 120Hz on the PC CRT but to my eyes its nothing I notice or am bothered by. May it bother some.... Sure! I dont wear glasses and have perfect vision and am even susceptible to seeing studder in VR if fps drop under 90. Im just saying dont brush this option off due to all the negative comments without seeing for yourself because thats what I did for the longest and now its the only way I will play mister on a PC CRT. Is it the "end all be all" way to play mister......? probably not. Im very picky with input lag and there is a small amount present..... But after trying all the other video mode options on a PC CRT this is by far the best tradeoff and looks amazing!!!.....to me When I think of a CRT I think of that nice phosphor "crt glow" and every other option on a PC CRT with scanlines dimmed the screen too much to the point that I would rather play on my 4k lcd in 5x scaling or on one of my consumer 15kHz crt tv's but once I tried 240p 120Hz on this PC 31kHz CRT.... Its easily the best image ive seen yet out of the mister or on any crt for that matter so if I was stuck with a PC CRT as the only CRT I owned, I would be playing in this 120Hz mode and be completely happy. Maybe you wont agree but I scoffed at this option as well just a few days ago untill I actually tried it. Everybody has preferences and opinions, All I can say is try it and see what you think. Try it and see if you are bothered by any blurring artifact, for me....not at all

(1440p/60) THAT IS GALACTIC DANCING! I cleared this my first time recently for a MiSTer FPGA Discord challenge I hosted. The first clear was streamed on Twitch but unfortunately had some frame drops & buffering on the final stage and boss. This video is my second clear for the game, also in better quality than the Twitch stream. This is an excellent follow-up to the original Galaga and well worth checking out on TurboGrafx/PC Engine! After finally making it through Dangerous Dave 2 in yesterday's video, I took on Slordax for the DOScember MiSTer Discord challenge to try and finally get to the ending. Didn't realize the game loops afterwards and forces a faster speed setting than the first loop. Also interesting were the loop-2 large boss enemies seeming to have glitchy graphics, but after checking other videos it seems that is the intended behavior. Makes for a much more confusing fight with the constant sprite swapping! Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? After finally making it through Dangerous Dave 2 in yesterday's video, I took on Slordax for the DOScember MiSTer Discord challenge to try and finally get to the ending. Didn't realize the game loops afterwards and forces a faster speed setting than the first loop. Also interesting were the loop-2 large boss enemies seeming to have glitchy graphics, but after checking other videos it seems that is the intended behavior. Makes for a much more confusing fight with the constant sprite swapping! Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com

MiSTer FPGA - Slordax: The Unknown Enemy / DOS PC-486

First time clearing Dangerous Dave 2! Played for the DOScember MiSTer Discord challenge I'm hosting, along with Slordax- another early iD software release. Judder during title scrolling is due to playing in original 70hz mode and recording 60fps. The challenge here gets pretty ridiculous, especially in stages 5 through 7. I had MANY deaths on stage 7 here while I figured out how to get through the final room- use chapter markers to skip those! Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? MiSTer FPGA - Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion / DOS PC-486

MiSTer Walrus FPGA 190 views décembre 22, 2023 9:24 pm

**PLEASE WATCH IN FULLSCREEN @ 1440p!** Back with another JogCon experiment here, this time with Skeleton Krew, a port to the Genesis from Amiga in 1995. The game is played in 6-button mode with a JogCon for control, via Reflex Adapt by MiSTerAddons. With 6-button mode it clears up some quirks with the control if you change the configuration, but you still need to have the fire button held down to rotate with the wheel. Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com Originally released on Amiga, the game is decent but definitely has it's rough edges. Stage objectives aren't always apparent so there is a trial-and-error process with many stages until you figure it out. The Genesis version here is far better than the Amiga/CD32 releases though, featuring better controls and further gameplay refinements. Sound effects are much better on Amiga, but there is no music while playing. On Genesis the music is unique and pretty good, but the sound effects are terrible and sound out of place often times, like the sound when you shoot the humanoid looking goons. There is also little indication given for when you take damage at times, leading to your health bar being completely drained without you noticing. Players have no invincibility frames so this can happen in a split second in some unlucky scenarios. The respawn mechanic put in place to get around this after dying is passable, but you need to realize that as soon as you spawn you are going to be vulnerable again. Hit detection is seemingly all over the place, requiring you to focus on both where your shot is and the shadow below them, depending on the enemy. Controls feel stiff because of the need to release the fire button to either jump or switch your weapon. Takes some getting used to. Overall it's a decent game if not somewhat monotonous, and something that I tied into my want to experiment more with the JogCon along with a Halloween horror/gore theme to celebrate the season. The "Reflex Adapt" I used for JogCon compatibility is a USB board by MiSTer Addons that converts classic controllers for use on modern systems/MiSTer. It uses the same HDMI-style controller connectors as the SNAC/SNAX boards that MiSTer Addons provides. JogCon code in the board was originally made by Sorgelig a few years back (the same person who created MiSTer) and improved upon by sonik with additional modes like the "fake spinner" used here. The Reflex Adapt is based on sonik's RetroZord arduino code and provides low latency 1000hz-compatible conversion for most classic controller types. This is an excellent way to breathe new life into a limited-use controller like the JogCon! Special thanks to nukeykt (https://twitter.com/nukeykt) for bringing us a new cycle-accurate Genesis/Mega Drive core on MiSTer with Nuked-MD, and to Sorg for working tirelessly to port it to the framework so quickly! MiSTer FPGA - Mario Kart 64 [Mushroom Cup 150cc w/ CRT-cam] / Nintendo 64 [ALPHA]

MiSTer Walrus FPGA 677 views septembre 12, 2023 7:28 pm

**PLEASE WATCH IN FULLSCREEN @ 1440p!** Played in 6-button mode. (code below) Back from hiatus with an absolute banger for the MD/Genesis! I hadn't played Shinobi 3 until a few weeks ago and I can now see why it's so highly praised! This is also my first video using the new updated Mega Drive/Genesis core that nukeykt created from decapped die images of the console's chipset, and is more accurate than the previous core. Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com After playing initially and seeing how multiple things were bound to a single button and pausing was required to switch magic, I discovered that there is a 6-button mode in the game that can be unlocked with a code. This mode allows independent attack, block and kunai buttons, as well as a dedicated magic swap button. I played this way on arcade stick and it was a blast with the new-found flexibility in the controls there. The mode was not included as a standard option because the 6-button controller was not available/finalized when this was being developed. 💥Here's the code to unlock six-button control: With a six-button controller in port 1 and another controller in port 2, highlight "Options" on the title screen, hold Mode on Controller 1, hold Up and C on Controller 2, and press Start on Controller 1 to open the options menu. To confirm successful entry, the "OPTIONS" text will change to "OPTION". Buttons cannot be remapped in this mode, so set them where you want via MiSTer's controller bindings. Six-button Controls: A Guard B Slash C Jump X Use Ninjitsu Y Throw Kunai Z Throw Kunai Mode Change Ninjitsu There are also Action Replay/Game Genie codes to unlock this mode, but I would advise not using them since they have issues and you won't get the full benefit of the unlocked controls that way. The final boss fight also froze on me while using those codes. I'm still settling into my new place but will have some more videos releasing soon that are already in the planning stage. Most likely next we will be taking a look at the N64 and Saturn cores, given the great progress they've had lately, and then some newer arcade stuff. Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com

After playing initially and seeing how multiple things were bound to a single button and pausing was required to switch magic, I discovered that there is a 6-button mode in the game that can be unlocked with a code. This mode allows independent attack, block and kunai buttons, as well as a dedicated magic swap button. I played this way on arcade stick and it was a blast with the new-found flexibility in the controls there. The mode was not included as a standard option because the 6-button controller was not available/finalized when this was being developed.

💥Here's the code to unlock six-button control:
With a six-button controller in port 1 and another controller in port 2, highlight "Options" on the title screen, hold Mode on Controller 1, hold Up and C on Controller 2, and press Start on Controller 1 to open the options menu. To confirm successful entry, the "OPTIONS" text will change to "OPTION". Buttons cannot be remapped in this mode, so set them where you want via MiSTer's controller bindings.
Six-button Controls:
A Guard
B Slash
C Jump
X Use Ninjitsu
Y Throw Kunai
Z Throw Kunai
Mode Change Ninjitsu

There are also Action Replay/Game Genie codes to unlock this mode, but I would advise not using them since they have issues and you won't get the full benefit of the unlocked controls that way. The final boss fight also froze on me while using those codes.

I'm still settling into my new place but will have some more videos releasing soon that are already in the planning stage. **1440p/60!** This is the English version of the arcade original for Valkyrie, released in 1997 only on PS1 in the great Namco Museum Vol.5 collection. 1cc with stock PCB dip settings & my highest score yet. Game played in TATE orientation on a CRT with HDMI video manually rotated via ffmpeg. Awesome to finally take some time to learn this one, after having played through the PC Engine port multiple times & the Famicom original with their great fan translations. Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com Overall the emulation in this PS1 port is very good. The biggest issues seem to be with some sound effects having incorrect levels/reverb, though the excellent music is reproduced nicely overall here. There are also scaling issues that will give slight graphical anomalies , no matter if you play in the stock screen orientation or use the "arcade" mode like I did in this video. They are much less apparent in TATE mode but still noticeable. Overall this is just so great to have a fully English version of, since the original cabinet never released outside of Japan. It would be nice if someone hacked this version to strip away the 3D museum frontend and make a more streamlined direct-boot of the game with a smaller image size, but besides a bit of delay getting into the game it's in pretty good shape here already! Great job to the Namco team who archived all of these classics on PS1 via the Namco Museum and Anthology series. It's a highly-recommended series for retro fans, featuring some exclusive remakes of Namco classics also! ▶ My other playthroughs for the Valkyrie series on MiSTer: Valkyrie no Densetsu PC Engine port: https://youtu.be/WTTdrqykBYk Valkyrie no Boken Famicom original: https://youtu.be/YakKbqQx3Yg (links to fan translations in description for both) The PlayStation core was created by FPGAzumSpass, whom previously brought us the GBA, Lynx and WonderSwan cores, along with enhancements to the Game Boy and NES cores, and significantly improved performance in the AO486 core. MiSTer FPGA - The Legend of Valkyrie [1cc] (ワルキューレの伝説) / PlayStation

MiSTer Walrus FPGA 347 views juillet 10, 2023 10:18 pm

It's been over 25 years since I last played this and it holds up surprisingly well! During the course of playing over the past week, I found the game has a tangled web of different versions with various strengths and weaknesses, which I documented below if you want to give it a shot. I also found there are communities still doing regular track time competitions for this in 2023! (Links below) The final track in this video is my submission for ZakStunts' June 2023 competition. Looking to get into MiSTer FPGA? Great quality kits, parts & support at https://www.MiSTerAddons.com ⭐Ongoing Competitions: https://zak.stunts.hu/ https://www.raceforkicks.com/ https://ccc.mystunts.net/ ⭐Racing wheel setup: While this game doesn't support wheels specifically, it can be made to work with them quite well if configured properly. Version 1.1 Broderbund is the only one suitable for wheel use. 2 Button/2 Sticks mode in AO486 core. T300RS wheel set to 270 Degree range. To enable joystick/wheel mode in-game, press CTRL-J at any time. Be sure to move marker to all boxes otherwise calibration will not complete. Bind Buttons 1&2 to paddles for manual shifting. Gas/Brake are combined to one pedal, but this isn't really a problem here since brake isn't analog. If you have pedals that have the Y axis split, it would work with two pedals. My general wheel setup guide: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=5982 ⭐Version differences I noted for Stunts: v1.0 Broderbund - Initial release- more bugs & greater likelihood of wrecking from slight collisions than other releases. Huge analog deadzone makes joy/wheel mostly unusable. Controls pretty much like key presses bound to the joystick with the only benefit being analog gas. MT-32 music works correctly. Setup program has additional "PC Speaker (No Digital Effects)" option for sound that's not in other versions. v1.1 Broderbund - Second release- fixed bugs, relaxed wreck conditions, more graphics options like "fast simulation speed" added. Unknown what "Fast video mgmt." gfx option does. (Maybe quicker replay controls?) Moderate analog deadzone with true analog steering, unlike v1.0 Broderbund. MT-32 driver was changed and is buggy. (Music slows down and halts oddly.) Even when replaced with MT-32 driver from v1.0, still has missing notes in MT-32 soundtrack. Use SoundBlaster option in this one. ❗See comments section❗ v1.1 Mindscape - Last PC release, Euro only "4D Sports: Driving" - Smallest analog deadzone, but introduces jitter when joystick/wheel is centered often times, making control overall worse and the game hard to look at with the jittering. Does not have the new gfx options from v1.1 Broderbund release. MT-32 driver seems to be working as well as v1.0 Broderbund release. Overall I'd recommend sticking with the v1.1 Broderbund release, even with its MT-32 issues. There are only short music tracks for the intro, title and post-race screens so it's not a big loss here. In all versions, SHIFT+F1 while in the track editor unlocks hidden landscape pieces! ⭐Playing with MT-32 Music: Use MT-32 v2/New. Distorted/incorrect sounds on MT-32 v1/Old. Stunts v1.1 Broderbund has a bugged MT-32 driver. Some issues can be fixed by replacing the 'MT15.DRV' file with the same file from other versions, though it'll still have missing samples/notes unfortunately. MUNT/mt32-pi seem to have an issue with a high pitched tone that plays when the game launches. All versions effected. Confirmed this does not occur with original MT-32 hardware. The AO486 core was brought to MiSTer by Sorg & considerably upgraded/improved by FPGAzumSpass, whom also brought us the PlayStation, GBA, Lynx and WonderSwan cores, along with enhancements to the Gameboy and NES cores. Installer un MiSTer FPGA dans une borne d'arcade: pourquoi et comment ?
