MiSTer FPGA – Scooby-Doo Mystery / Genesis (Mega Drive)

Another Discord recommendation here, that I found to be surprisingly good. The game blatantly rips off the Lucasarts classic adventure game style, even down to the graphics and animation of characters while talking, etc. Puzzles are a bit cryptic in this though, and would take a very long time to figure out on your own. I used a guide to show both episodes of the game in this video.

Gameplay centers around Shaggy and Scooby, with the other characters being an after-thought. The dialogue is often silly and worth exploring a bit, as are the visuals and overall stories.

One thing I noticed in the 2nd « episode », is that they rip off Black Sabbath’s Iron Man for part of the music while in the haunted house section. Listen closely and you will hear the unmistakable riff from the song. I thought this was a neat little easter egg. You can hear this at 1:16:36
