Yet another awesome Capcom beat ’em up. Warriors of Fate is a heavily upgraded sequel to Capcom’s earlier arcade game « Dynasty Wars », and in many ways feels like a remake. Like other efforts of theirs around this time, this one is brimming with small details that really make it stand out. You can really feel the influence of their successful forays into the fighting and wrestling genres. Characters have extensive move sets with combo attacks that have advanced mechanics like cancelling into special moves, even from throws. It’s very rewarding to experiment with and the inclusion of a dash move (down+jump) is not only a solid offensive attack (and lead-up to your special), but also serves as a good gap-closer to get in on those annoying enemies who like to kite you, just out of range.

This was my first playthrough of the game, after trying the characters briefly to practice before recording. I vaguely remember playing this in MAME a long time ago, but its been at least 15 years or since I last did. This is a favorite in the genre, after playing it through again now. Should be a blast to revisit for some multiplayer in the future also.
There are censored elements in the western versions of the game, and reduced dialog. Some cutscenes are removed entirely.
